Careers in The NHS Day at Leicester Kube

On Wednesday March 8th a group of Yr 12/13 students attended the NHS careers information day in Leicester. Most of the students were studying science or health and care related subjects and were specifically interested in progressing to NHS related training or employment after leaving the sixth form.

There was a really good coverage of most health related jobs and students were able to engage in various interactive activities that were linked to different areas of the health service.  A life- like ultra sound simulator allowed students to carry out a pregnancy scan which they could view on a monitor and a “hands on “ heart monitor allowed students to measure each other’s resting heart rate and oxygen saturation levels.  There was a lot of useful advice for those seeking to study medicine, including a full paramedic team.
