Templates are a great way to attract your visitors attention to a certain area of a web page and to keep styling throughout your website looking uniform.


Create Styled Tables

Instructions to create a Content Button

Step 1 (move to Step 2 if you have already completed this procedure)

  • Click 'Edit' in the orange strip of the CMS (Content Management System)
  • Click 'Custom Field' and enter the following text into the custom field area:    content.css
  • 'Save' the page

Step 2

  • Click into the content area of the page where you wish to create a styled table
  • Click the 'Template' icon (in the 'Edit' menu of the CMS) and scroll down and select one of the 'Styled Tables' templates
  • You should now see the styles template on your page. Add you content.
  • 'Save' the page

The styled template can be customised further by right clicking anywhere in the table and selecting one of the table properties (add/delete columns and rows, add headers to the tables, delete table etc...)

Tips:

to quickly add another row,
place your mouse cursor in the last cell of the table and hit 'Tab' on your keyboard

Alternatively to create an additional Row or Column
'Right click' in the table and select Row/Insert Row or Column/Insert Column (before or after) to create a new Row or Column

To add or remove a coloured table header

  • 'Right click' in a table
  • Select 'Table Properties'
  • Locate the 'Drop down' menu titled 'Header'
  • Select 'First Row' to add a table header or 'None' to remove the table header
  • Click 'O.K'
  • 'Save' page (if necessary 'Refresh' your web page)

Create a Content-Button

Instructions to create a Content Button

Step 1 (move to Step 2 if you have already completed this procedure)

  • Click 'Edit' in the orange strip of the CMS (Content Management System)
  • Click 'Custom Field' and enter the following text into the custom field area:    content.css
  • 'Save' the page

Step 2

  • Click into the content area of the page where you wish to create a Content Button
  • Click the 'Template' icon (in the 'Edit' menu of the CMS) and scroll down and click the 'content-button' template
  • You should now see the Content Button on your page
  • Carefully select the default text of the content-button and rename it
  • When you have renamed the button 'Double Click' on it to open the 'Link Info' box
  • In the link info box, in the field titled 'URL' add you link (this could be a link to another website or and external file. You can also click 'Internal Link'  to link to an internal page on this website or you can select 'Browse Server' to link to an existing file in the file manager or upload a new file to the file manager.)
  • Once you have completed the URL click 'O.K'
  • 'Save' the page

Your content button should now be complete.
Once logged out, clicking it should take you to the website or files you chose.


To Create Block Quotes

Step 1 (move to Step 2 if you have already completed this procedure)

  • Click 'Edit' in the orange strip of the CMS (Content Management System)
  • Click 'Custom Field' and enter the following text into the custom field area:    content.css
  • 'Save' the page

Step 2

  • Click into the content area of the page where you wish to create an Block quote
    or select some existing text that you wish to turn into a block quote
  • Click the 'Edit' menu (in the orange strip at the top of the cms)
  • Click the 'Quotes' icon
  • You should now have a blockquote on your page

To Create an Attention box

Step 1 (move to Step 2 if you have already completed this procedure)

  • Click 'Edit' in the orange strip of the CMS (Content Management System)
  • Click 'Custom Field' and enter the following text into the custom field area:    content.css
  • 'Save' the page

Step 2

  • Click into the content area of the page where you wish to create an Attention Box
  • Click the 'Template' icon (in the 'Edit' menu of the CMS) and scroll down and click the 'attention template
  • You should now see the attention box on your page
  • Carefully select all of the default text and then replace it with your own

 


Create an Accordion

Instructions to create an Accordion

Step 1 (move to Step 2 if you have already completed this procedure)

  • Click 'Edit' in the orange strip of the CMS (Content Management System)
  • Click 'Custom Field' and enter the following text into the custom field area:    content.css
  • 'Save' the page

Step 2

  • Click into the content area of the page where you wish to create an Accordion
  • Click the 'Template' icon (in the 'Edit' menu of the CMS) and scroll down and click the 'accordion template
  • You should now see a single Accordion on your page
  • Carefully select all of the default title text of the accordion and then replace it with your title
    then add your content to the 'Accordion content' area.
  • 'Save' page

For multiple accordions repeat Step 1 procedure

tip: You will need to be logged out of the CMS (Content Management System) to see the Accordion working.


Create a Curriculum Subject Page Layout Template

This template ('subject-template2') has 2 tables,
select 'subject-template1' for a layout with just one table or
'subject-template0' for a layout with 'no' tables!

Instructions to create the page layout template

Step 1 (move to Step 2 if you have already completed this procedure)

  • Click 'Edit' in the orange strip of the CMS (Content Management System)
  • Click 'Custom Field' and enter the following text into the custom field area:    content.css
  • 'Save' the page

Step 2

  • Delete any existing text on the page and then click into the content area of the page
  • Click the 'Template' icon (in the 'Edit' menu of the CMS) and scroll down and select the 'subject-template2'
    Selecting 'subject-template1' will create a page layout with just one table
  • You should now see an example page layout in the content area

Replace the dummy 'latin text' with your curriculum subject content.

Edit a Table

Table 'Rows' and 'Columns' can be edited by 'Right Clicking in a table' and selecting the properties for 'Rows' and 'Columns', you then have the choice to add extra rows and columns to a table or to delete a row or a column.

You can also 'Delete a table' by 'Right clicking in the table' and selecting 'Delete Table'
