TENC Dress Code

Our sixth form students are role models for our school communities and are expected to dress in smart, professional clothing and footwear. They must be appropriately dressed for a working day at school and to a standard which would be acceptable in a business environment.

 Dress Code

  • Smart trousers
  • Skirts/Dresses (no more than 10cm above the knee)
  • Collared shirt or plain polo shirt
  • Jumper/cardigan (plain)
  • Suit (optional)
  • Tie (optional)
  • Blouse/top/shirt
  • Smart shoes or boots with a sensible heel
  • Hairstyles and colour must be in keeping with the business dress ethos. Hair must not be dyed excessively bright colours.
  • Piercings should be subtle and not excessive. Nose rings/eyebrow rings are not permitted.

 

Not Permitted

  • Any form of denim including black jeans
  • Hooded tops
  • Jogging bottoms or leggings
  • Shorts
  • Sportswear (unless in practical sports lessons when TENC sportswear can be worn)
  • Casual T-shirts
  • Crop tops/vests/narrow strapped tops or dresses (shoulders must be covered)
  • Beachwear including sunglasses
  • Trainers/flip flops
  • Baseball caps or hats
  • Slogans on T-shirts
  • Excessively tight or revealing tops
  • Outdoor clothing should not be worn in lessons (hoodies are outdoor clothing)

In extreme cases students will be sent home to change if they are dressed inappropriately.

Student Lanyards

Every student will be issued with a TENC lanyard which must be worn at all times. Replacements will incur a cost of £5.00.

Sanctions and Consequences

 Verbal warning from Ho6th. Student given dress code pass with deadline (maximum 5 days).   Warning recorded. This can be issued on any of the three sites.

 If review date not met, Ho6th sends a letter home. Formal warning.

 3

 Ho6th meeting with parent. Formal warning. Exclusion possible.
